Country Girl gone City

When I first moved to North Carolina I was in love with the weather, but over the years the summer temperature's just keep rising.  The forecasters say it may be a record summer where every day is above 90 degrees.  For those who live in Texas and some of the other southern states where you experience extreme bouts of heat, you are probably thinking I don't know what hot is and guess what! You are right.  That is why I chose NC.  I am officially a country girl gone city!

I was born and raised in South Carolina.  From the early times of my life I grew up on a farm.  We used an out house (yes you read correctly outhouses were still around in the 80's) and I know what it is like to pick veggies straight out of the garden or for fancy terms like they use in 2015 from farm to table.  I also know what it's like to see chickens get their necks rung or hogs go to slaughter.  I had the most amazing time playing jump the ditch and creating soap out of mud.  So when people say, "girl you are country" I say "why thank you"!  For truly I am a country girl at heart!

Well what better way to beat the heat than a pair of overall's and a sun hat for the country girl!  The city part of me wanted to add some wedges and pops of color with my accessories.  What are you wearing to beat the heat?  Are you a country girl gone city?
