Refiner's Fire

Today's post is a word of encouragement for those of you who may be going through a challenging time in your life.

1 Peter 1:7 ESV So that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Often times we live a life that we feel is pleasing and upright.  A just life that is just and blameless, where we have done all thing in order and pperhaps you we have.  We shout to the mountain tops that we believe in a greater being, but the moment we are faced with adversity we are fearful.  The reference above speaks about the refiners fire.  It speaks about a place of purification that many don't want to experience.  We want the illustrious Diamonds and the wonderful silver and gold, but if we only had the same experience as the precious stones and metals I believe we would be okay with accepting a cubic zirconia or a wooden bracelet.  Sometimes the trials will come on every hand, but you must remember that you are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus.  So when you are in the fire and we feel as if there is no way out, remember the story of the three Hebrew boys.  Only three were put in, but four were noticed during the check up because God was with them.  Scripture declares He will never leave you nor forsake you.  So no matter how hot the fire gets, know that the heat has been turned up for your making.  It may be painful, but it is not going to be deadly.  It may hurt, but you will heal.  It may be scary, but He left with you a comforter.  It may get hot, but you won't get burned.  Remember during the difficult times God is testing the genuineness of your faith and stretching us so we can handle and even greater position in life.

Do you really trust God?  Do you really believe His word?  Will you really praise, glorify, and honor God when you realize that He is the one trying your faith to bring you to a total place of humility?
