I recognize that I have been a little scarce on the postings, but I promise to catch you guys up on all the randomness in my life soon enough. In the meantime, did you do anything fun for Memorial Day? I know we all are very thankful for the sacrifice of the men and women who serve and protect our country, but I hope you got to visit friends or spend time with your family. My favorite little lady and I were going to spend the day at home until we heard a big bang and realized that Duke Progress decided we needed to get out of the house for the afternoon. *smile* I called the power company only to find out that 2300 customers were without power and they anticipated it would be a few hours before they could repair the transformer that just so happened to blow up. How convenient that this happened on Memorial day right when people were cooking out and enjoying their day off.
In spite of this random outage ruining a good movie we were watching at home (Juno), it was probably the best thing that could have happened. It forced me to get out of the house and my kid and I had a wonderful mother/daughter outing. We went to see Fast 6, ate popcorn with sour patch kids mixed in (my Dande's delicious idea), and then we stopped to get some Cold Stone's ice cream. It was a perfect way to end our fabulous Memorial day weekend!
